Adanech, a 30-year-old mother, lives a life defined by perseverance. After separating from her husband due to a difficult marriage, she now raises her six children Zinabu (13), Kufa (11), Ayentu (9), Salemu (7), Marta (5), and baby Gatiso in a single small room inside her mother’s home. With her income of just 10 USD per month from selling maize and coffee, every day feels like a fight to keep her children fed. Her greatest heartbreak is that she cannot afford school materials, making her dream of educating her children seem out of reach. Even so, Adanech refuses to let despair define her family’s story. She hopes to begin a milk cow and donkey fattening business to create a stable income. Her children are her strength, and she dreams of giving them opportunities she never had.
