Josephine is a devoted wife and mother living with her family in Kibera, Kenya. She and her husband, Benjamin, are raising their four sons—Charles, Malaka, James, and Shadrack—and also care for their niece, Rose. The family lives in a small, rented single room, and meeting daily needs remains a challenge. Josephine runs a small hotel (café) business and is working to grow it with the help of a microloan received through the FHI small business program. Benjamin earns irregular income through casual construction work. Despite this progress, their finances remain stretched, especially with ongoing school fees and Josephine’s health needs as she manages diabetes and high blood pressure. Having recently lost sponsorship support, the family is seeking renewed assistance to stabilize their household and focus on becoming self-sustaining. Their faith, resilience, and commitment to hard work continue to guide them as they work toward a brighter future. They are expected to graduate in early 2028.
