Rose (36) lives in Kibera with her husband Lucas (40), a gym trainer, and their two daughters: Doris (18), who recently completed Form 4, and Millicent (13), in Grade 7. Rose earns about $28/month selling mandazi, while Lucas brings in around $36/month. Their combined income of $64/month barely covers essentials, including rent ($40/month). They live in a single-room mud house that leaks during heavy rains, making it unsafe and uncomfortable. Rose dreams of expanding her business to sell fast foods like chips and sausages, which could provide a more stable income. A devoted Christian, she attends church regularly and draws strength from her faith. Your support will allow Rose to grow her business, improve her family’s living conditions, and ensure her daughters have access to education and a brighter future.
