Margaret (40) lives in the Silanga neighborhood of Kibera, Kenya, with her husband Philip (41) and their five children. Two have completed secondary school, while the younger three are still in Grades 7, 2, and preschool. Margaret earns about $24/month washing clothes, but work is inconsistent. Philip earns around $80/month as a mechanic, which is not enough to support their household. They pay $28/month in rent and lack electricity, making daily life difficult. School fees and Margaret’s high blood pressure medication add to their financial strain. Margaret dreams of starting a small potato-selling business to create a more stable income. A born-again Christian, she draws strength from her faith and church community. Margaret is humbly seeking support through Family Hope International to help improve her family’s living conditions and build a more secure future.
