Myla Vuyanzi, 34, lives in Kichinjio, Kibera with her two daughters. Separated from her husband, she is the sole provider. Her eldest, Shanice (15), attends boarding school, while Angela (9) is in Grade 4. Myla earns about $40/month helping at a friend’s salon, which barely covers essentials. Rent for their single-room home is $28/month, but the space floods during rain and lacks basic items like utensils. She cooks on a small coil stove, which is unsafe and unreliable. Despite these challenges, Myla is hopeful. She dreams of opening a beauty shop to provide a stable income and a better life for her children. A committed Christian, she draws strength from her faith and church community. Myla is humbly seeking support through Family Hope International to help break the cycle of poverty and build a more secure future for her family.
