Masline is a single mother of two, raising her children in the Kibera Slum. Clinton is 16 years old and anticipates starting high school next year. Franklin is 14 and in 6th grade. Formerly employed as house help, Masline has recently started selling second-hand clothing. She brings in about $40 USD per month but over half of this goes to pay rent.
Masline grapples with chest pains, particularly exacerbated during cold weather, as she also suffers from asthma, managed with an inhaler. Clinton experiences allergies, and Franklin, though often unwell, relies on over-the-counter medicine due to the high cost of healthcare.
Active participants in their local church, Masline, and her boys find community and support within their spiritual congregation. Your support will help meet this family’s basic needs and give Masline the opportunity to expand her business in the future and work to become self-sustaining.
