Rose Omondi resides with her husband James and their seven children in a single iron-sheet room in the Kibera Slum. Everline is 27 and Joseph is 21 and they are both studying at university. Sara (16), Ibrahim (14), Michael (11) and Juliet and Jebril (twins, age 5) are all attending school. Currently the sole breadwinner, Rose works as a janitor and earns an average of 300 schillings per day, which is just under $2 USD. Despite her husband's job contract ending, he remains supportive and encouraging while actively seeking new employment.
Sarah and Michael both experience eye problems, with Sarah needing new lenses and Michael requiring a checkup.
