Mourine and Erick reside in the Kibera Slum with five children, three of whom are their biological children and two who are relatives. The family resides in a single room with a monthly cost of about $22.
Peris is 14 and she is awaiting high school admission, Cecilia is 9 and in 3rd grade and Ericka is 4 and in kindergarten. Wilfred is their 25-year-old niece and Dalton is their 18-year-old nephew. They are also in school.
Erick, Mourine's husband, faced challenges after being diagnosed with epilepsy in 2019, leading to the loss of his security job. Mourine, taking on the role of the breadwinner, works casual jobs, earning about $45/month. Mourine hopes to start selling groceries in our micro-loan program to navigate through their challenges. In the meantime your monthly support will ensure this family has enough to eat and that their basic needs are met.
